A request was taken back
The FDA lists ipamorelin acetate among withdrawn requests for ordinary pharmacy compounding on its page current as of April 22, 2026.
Ipamorelin acetate is the salt form, one of the two chemical forms of ipamorelin.
The groups asking for its use took those requests back; that did not give the ingredient clearance.
The FDA gives no date for the withdrawal on that page.
The concern listing is still there
On that same FDA page, ipamorelin acetate is also in Category 2 for larger compounding facilities.
Category 2 is the group with significant safety concerns.
Ask which rule an offer relies on. “It was removed from a list” leaves the main question unanswered.
A committee vote is advice
On October 29, 2024, the FDA’s group of advisers voted against adding plain ipamorelin or ipamorelin acetate to the ordinary pharmacies’ allowed ingredient list.
As of October 1, 2026, the FDA had published no new compounding rule specifically about ipamorelin.
Existing ingredient rules still apply. As of that date, neither form has an official quality standard, is part of an approved drug or is on the allowed list.
These are legal conditions for using an ingredient, not laboratory tests of a sample. The quality standard is an official written standard for checking an ingredient.
